不锈钢齿轮泵液压系统的气穴和气蚀现象也会产生噪声。一般将2%~5%的空气混入液压油中，其中的一部分溶解到油中，另外的一部分就均匀混合于油中，形成微小的白点。如果油液压力降低到某一个定值时，混在油中的微量气体就会因为压力的降低使自身的体积膨胀并相互聚合，形成气泡。当空气降低到其分离压力以下时，溶解的空气就会从油液中脱离，形成许多气泡。气泡会随着油液飘流到压力较高区域，此时气泡就会被压缩，体积减小。当压力达到某一特定值时，气泡就会破裂，释放其内部的能量。
