Assembly and troubleshooting methods for gear pumps

A gear pump is a component of a machine lubrication, oil supply, or other liquid system, and is a type of hydraulic pump that belongs to the rotary type. There are two or more gears meshing inside the gearbox, which, under the action of rotation, suck in fluid from one side and then discharge it to the other side. Its main advantages are simple structure, convenient manufacturing, low cost, small volume, light weight, good self suction performance, insensitivity to oil pollution, and working; Its main disadvantages are large flow and pressure fluctuations, high noise, and non adjustable displacement. Gear pumps are widely used in various industries such as mining equipment, metallurgical equipment, construction machinery, engineering machinery, and agricultural and forestry machinery. According to their different meshing forms, gear pumps have two types: external meshing and internal meshing. External meshing gear pumps are widely used, while internal meshing gear pumps are mostly auxiliary pumps

Assembly of gear pump

1. When disassembling the gear pump, it should be carried out in a clean environment.

2. During disassembly and assembly, components should be handled with care and should not be knocked with metal objects

During the disassembly process, when encountering stuck components, do not knock or smash them randomly

4. Before assembling the gear pump, carefully clean all parts and use a clean cloth to wipe off any accumulated oil (do not use cotton yarn to prevent thread ends from falling in). There should be no chips, abrasives, or other dirt

When assembling the gear pump, first install the gear and shaft into the needle roller bearing of the rear pump end cover, gently install the pump body and front pump cover, and tighten the positioning pin. Tighten the bolts and ensure that they are evenly stressed

6. During assembly, follow the principle of installing the disassembled parts first and then the disassembled parts first. After installation, ensure that the gear pump rotates flexibly and smoothly without any obstruction or jamming

Maintenance methods for gear pumps

1. Regularly add grease. The electric oil drum pump operates at high speed, and the lubricating grease is easy to evaporate. Therefore, the lubrication at the bearings can be kept clean, and attention should be paid to replacement.

2. Pay attention to storing the electric oil pump in a dry, clean, and non corrosive environment

3. The gear oil pump should be inspected and maintained regularly, and the electric oil drum pump should be inspected and maintained regularly. The power line, including the internal connection line, plug, switch, insulation resistance, loose brush tail seat, good contact between the commutator and the brush, moderate open circuit phenomenon in the armature winding and stator winding group, and damage to bearings and rotating parts should be checked

4. Pay attention to the insulation resistance of gear oil pumps. For electric liquid pumps that are not used for a long time or used in humid environments, measure the insulation resistance of the winding with a 500 volt megohmmeter before use. If the insulation resistance between the winding and the motor casing is less than 7 megaohms, dry the winding

5. Save each part and replace the same part. When disassembling and inspecting the gear oil pump, each part should be well preserved. Special attention should be paid to the explosion-proof surface of the explosion-proof parts, which should not be damaged or roughened, including insulation pads and sleeves. If there is any damage, replace it with a new identical part, and do not use substitute materials with lower performance than the original material or parts that do not meet the original specifications. During assembly, all parts should be installed in their original positions without omission.
