Working principle

CHL stainless steel multi-stage centrifugal pump relies on the action of the rotating impeller on the liquid to transfer the mechanical energy of the prime mover to the liquid.

. Due to the action of the CHL stainless steel multi-stage centrifugal pump, the velocity and pressure energy of the liquid flow from the impeller to the outlet increase. The liquid discharged by the impeller passes through the pressure chamber, and most of the velocity energy is converted into pressure energy, which is then transported out along the discharge pipeline. At this time, a vacuum or low pressure is formed at the impeller due to the discharge of the liquid. The liquid in the suction tank is pressed into the impeller under the action of the liquid level pressure (atmospheric pressure), and the rotating impeller continuously sucks in and discharges the liquid

In the volute, the liquid slows down due to the gradual expansion of the flow channel, and then converts some kinetic energy into static pressure energy, which flows into the discharge pipeline at a higher pressure and is sent to the required location. When the liquid flows from the impeller to the outer edge, a specific vacuum is formed in the impeller. Due to the pressure above the liquid level in the storage tank being greater than the pressure at the pump inlet, the liquid is continuously pressed into the impeller. It can be seen that as long as the impeller continues to rotate, the liquid will be continuously sucked in and discharged

When there is air in the pump casing, a smaller centrifugal force is generated because the density of the air is much lower than that of the liquid. As a result, the pressure difference between the liquid level above the storage tank and the pump suction port is not sufficient to pressure the liquid in the storage tank into the pump, which means that the CHL stainless steel multi-stage centrifugal pump has no self suction capacity, making it unable to transport liquid. This phenomenon is called "gas binding phenomenon". In order to fill the pump with liquid, a bottom valve with a filter screen is usually installed at the bottom of the suction pipe, which is a check valve. The function of the filter screen is to prevent solid substances from entering the pump and damaging the impeller or hindering the normal operation of the pump
