[1] Roots oil pump operation and use

Preparation before starting

1. Check the lubricating oil in the gearbox and end cover A, and the oil level should reach the middle position of the sight glass.

. The oil cup of the extended shaft seal is often filled with lubricating oil and must be kept clean. The oil should be changed after 30-50 hours of use of a new pump, and it can be determined whether to change the oil according to the usage situation in the future

2. If the inhaled gas contains dust or other metal powder, a dust or filtering device should be installed in front of the air inlet. If the inhaled gas is corrosive, use intermediate measures

3. Check for any looseness in the pump components

4. Inch the motor and check if the direction of the motor rotation is consistent with the arrow on the pump. 5. Check if the cooling water is connected. (Small Roots oil pump without cooling water)

Starting steps

1. Connect the power and start the front stage pump (start the front stage pump according to the instructions on the front stage pump)

2. Open the intake valve of the Roots oil pump

3. Start the Roots oil pump

4. The pump should run smoothly and there should be no collision or impact sound from the rotor

5. There should be no leakage at the shaft seal of the pump

During the operation of the Roots oil pump, if the local temperature rises too much, the current reading suddenly changes, or irregular noise or other abnormal phenomena occur, the pump should be stopped immediately to check the cause

Stop pump steps

1. First, close the intake valve connected to the system.

2. Stop the pump. (Close the exhaust valve of the Roots oil pump)

3. Stop the front stage pump

Roots pump has three clearances: radial clearance between impeller and pump casing; Axial clearance between impeller and pump casing; The gap between the working surfaces of the impeller. For the first two types of clearances, it is easier to adjust, while for the impeller working surface clearance, the following process can be followed for adjustment

Rotate the impeller shaft by hand and measure the clearance value with a dial gauge at the point where the meshing clearance between the two impellers is small. Then, fix one impeller and the other impeller at the clearance value, fix the two transmission gears on the shaft, and then perform turning. At the point where friction sounds on the surface of the two impellers, loosen the gear fixing nut, fine tune the impeller, and then tighten the nut. According to this method, it can generally be adjusted once. After the turning gear makes no sound, conduct an empty car test

The clearance between the working surfaces of the two impellers is affected by the side clearance of the transmission gear on the impeller shaft. When the meshing side clearance of the gear pair approaches the clearance between the working surfaces of the two impellers, the two transmission gears should be replaced
